Research interests
My research interests lie at the interface of plant biology, entomology and plant pathology. I am interested in understanding how interactions among plants, insect vectors and microorganisms shape agricultural systems, particularly through their effects on insect behaviour, host plant use and disease dynamics.
While understanding the biological mechanisms underlying these interactions is highly interesting to me, I am particularly drawn to research questions connected to real-world agricultural challenges and to work that may ultimately contribute to more sustainable approaches to crop protection and agricultural management.
Plant-Vector-Microorganism Interactions
Understanding how plants, insect vectors and microorganisms influence one another and shape biological processes in agricultural systems.
Insect Physiology and Behaviour
Investigating history life traits and host choice, feeding and oviposition behaviour to better understand insect–plant interactions.
Host Plant Resistance
Exploring plant traits and mechanisms that influence insect performance, behaviour and pathogen transmission.
Sustainable Crop Protection
Studying biological mechanisms that may help inform future strategies for more sustainable crop protection.
